Our customer is a leading provider of innovative financial solutions for small and medium businesses, they are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Underwriter to join their growing team.

**About the role**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain records and documentation of credit decisions, and comply with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
- Assist with merchant incoming calls relating to general queries involving the Credit Risk / Underwriting Team
- Assist with the overall daily collection debit order process, managing the changing of daily debit orders, dealing with unpaids and the liaison with the merchants as appropriate
- Keep up to date with the financial services industry, the credit market, and the best practices in credit underwriting.
- Provide input into the maintenance of all credit risk policies, workflows and other relevant credit risk / underwriting documentation
- Provide credit risk support / guidance to the broader organisation to ensure common understanding
- Assist in the production, presentation of portfolio and operational analytical results

**Requirements**:

- A relevant qualification or equivalent work experience in the field of credit underwriting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to evaluate financial information and risk factors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry, the credit market, and the relevant regulations and compliance standards.
