**Position Overview**
The objective of the Disabilities Services Officer role is to provide responsive, individualised services and supports for each person and family consistent with the relevant legislation, their NDIS plan, TLC’s Disabilities Services Officer will need to be well informed on relevant polices and quality framework, and funding guidelines. The Disabilities Services Officer role will promote empowerment, choice and control and community inclusion of people with disabilities and their families, consistent with their NDIS plan. The Disabilities Services Officer will promote a learning focussed, valuing and cooperative organisation that promotes the development and wellbeing of staff and volunteers. This role will be responsible in engaging with appropriate service providers and allied health professionals and monitor progress toward the achievement of their plan goals. The Disabilities Services Officer is to assist customers to identify community or mainstream supports that can also assist them to achieve their set plan goals.

Promote and support clients to access connections and networking opportunities outside of the service system, aligned with individual goal.
- Someone who can assist customers to build their capacity around the understanding of their plan and implementation.
- Someone who can establish and maintain effective links with the NDIS, TLC programs and other provider services.
**Essentials**
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant qualification and experience/lived experience supporting individuals with complex needs is highly regarded.
- Relevant experience empowering and supporting people with an intellectual disability and/ or children and young people in a related area/ field
- Relevant experience in coordinating responsive, individualized support to participants with complex needs and their families.
- A commitment to person-centred and family centred practice and maximizing the opportunities and support of participants with disabilities and their families within their local communities.
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation, NDIS procedural guidelines and the full range of community services that may be required by participants.
- Awareness of the rights of people with intellectual disabilities and/or multiple disabilities.
- Strong commitment to inclusion of people with disabilities within the community.
- Ability to support and motivate Tender Loving Care clients to ensure that they can always attempt to reach their full potential.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and relate to people we support and their families and friends.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and contribute to team goals.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent administrative and documentation skills
- Previous experience in using CRM systems such as MYP.
- Be flexible, highly motivated, possess emotional intelligence, maturity, a sense of humour and willingness to subscribe to the Tender Loving Care mission and values.
- Maintain current NSW driver’s licence.
- Hold a current First Aid certificate.
- Hold a current NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children's check.
