**Position Title **Finance Officer - Accounts Payable
**Reports To **Finance Manager

**Position Overview **The Finance Officer - Accounts Payable is an integral part of the College’s operations
and is accountable to the Finance Manager.
The Finance Officer - Accounts Payable will be directly responsible for ensuring
accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, as well as providing
finance/administrative support as directed. This position is for both the St John’s
Newtown and Armstrong Creek campuses.
**Duties and Finance Officer**
**Responsibilities **- Ensures invoices, purchase orders, reimbursements and payment of
creditors are processed in accordance with College authorisation and
standard procedures via the College finance system (TASS).
- Allocate expenses to account codes and assist staff expenditure enquiries.
- Ensure the accuracy of accounts payable and account codes in a manner
suitable for audit purposes
- Prepare account correspondence and reports using Word, Excel and the
College finance system as per adhoc requests
- Setup new Suppliers and liaise with suppliers regarding payment
arrangements on an ongoing basis
- Assist with other functions of the Business Office as requested by the
Finance Manager
- Provide general assistance regarding budget expenditure processes and
data reports
- Has a working knowledge of GST and BAS recording and reporting
- Other finance duties and reporting as required
- Ensure that effective communication skills and support is always provided
when dealing with staff, creditors, or the general public
- Processing and reconciling of credit card statements
- Back up Accounts Receivable as required
- Reception cover as required
- Other duties as requested commensurate with the position including
attendance at daily Staff Devotions

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Demonstrate a high level of experience in a similar role
- Recent relevant experience in a school setting is preferable
- Strong technology skills including use of Microsoft Office suite
- Formal qualifications in Accounts Payable or a bookkeeping course is
advantageous
- A current Working with Children’s Check and National Police Check (not more
than 6 months old)
**Classification Salary**: Lutheran Education (Victorian Schools) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018
**Tenure**: Part Time ongoing (includes 4 weeks’ annual leave at Christmas and 1 week of
leave at the beginning of each Term Break)
