Our long-standing relationships and deep knowledge of the insurance industry have seen us recognised as the premier Insurance Law & Litigation practice in Australia. Reporting directly to the Partner the position will see you taking on complex and engaging coverage and defence work.

**About the Role**

Exciting opportunity to work with leading insurers, large engineering consultancies and construction contractors and a wide range of other insureds in the construction, engineering, and property sectors.

**Responsibilities**
- Primary responsibility for the day-to-day conduct of commercial litigation matters under supportive supervision, including drafting correspondence, pleadings, submissions, affidavits and other court documents
- Appearing at settlement conferences, tribunal, and court hearings
- Drafting detailed and comprehensive advice to clients
- Managing and building external client relationships and assisting with business development activities
- Maintaining client portals
- Collaborating with senior practitioners and other team members
- Coaching and mentoring junior lawyers
- Supporting graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotations

**About You**
- You hold a current practicing certificate for Queensland
- You bring 1 - 3 years PAE solid experience working principally in construction, engineering, and professional indemnity and property insurance
- Whilst not essential, experience acting in subrogated recovery actions is also welcome
- You are self-driven, have excellent verbal and written communication, and time management skills
- You can manage competing priorities effectively
- You can demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, particular the ability to earn the confidence and trust of key stakeholders
- You pride yourself on being a team player who is professional, client focused and supportive of your colleagues
