Barista / Wholesale Manager

We are Quest Coffee Roasters, a long established espresso bar and organic coffee roastery with a loyal community following in Burleigh Heads and the Gold Coast. We sell coffee beans and products in store, online, and wholesale. We are known for our top quality coffee, focus on sustainable supply, and friendly customer service. We supply wholesale customers with coffee beans, tea, and cafe supplies in Queensland and NSW.

**We are looking for a Barista & Wholesale Manager to join our team**

**Position**: Barista & Roastery Assistant
**Hours**: 38-42 hours / week (Casual or Full Time)
**Schedule**: Between 5:30am and 3pm
**Rate**: Casual: $34.00 to $36.00 / hr + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty Rates, Full Time: $60,000 - $65,0000 pa + Super
**Location**: Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, QLD

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Roastery Management** - Opening and closing the roastery, managing inventory, ordering supplies, and efficiently running the day shift on some days.
- **Barista**responsibilities, including expertly preparing and serving a variety of beverages, food items, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintaining strict **quality control** standards for all drinks and coffee bean preparation.
- **Welcoming and engaging customers** with friendly conversation, and actively determining their coffee preferences and needs to provide personalised recommendations.
- **Educating**customers about the characteristics of different coffee beans, their origins, and the nuances of various roasts.
- Actively **promoting and selling coffees**, as well as coffee brewing equipment, by effectively communicating the unique attributes and benefits of each product.
- **Wholesale Management** of wholesale customers, onboarding, production advice, invoicing, organising servicing and training, and helping answer general questions.
- **Product Management** - mangaging product supply, pricing, and suppliers.
- **Wholesale Communication** via newsletters, website content, and social media (as necessary).
- **Wholesale Deliveries** to our customers in Gold Coast - 1 or 2 times per week.
- Maintaining a **clean, safe, and hygienic work environment** that adheres to organisation standards and follows sanitation regulations to prioritise the well-being of both staff and customers.

**ABOUT YOU**

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 2 or more years of recent experience as a Barista.
- Strong computing skills, including excel / google sheets.
- 2 or more years of experience in an account management or sales role.
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, origins, and brewing techniques.
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills.
- A strong understanding of Food Health & Safety.

NICE TO HAVE
- Certification II or more in Hospitality.
- Organic handling experience.
- Marketing or photography experience.
- Programming experience.
- Xero.
- Food handling / Cookery experience.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate visa to work in Australia. _Note: This role is not suitable for Working Holiday VISA holders._
- Availability to Mon to Friday 5 days per week.
- Loves coffee and tea
- Own car with capacity to make deliveries.
