Our client is an Australian owned turf and landscaping business that grows and supplies some of the highest quality turf, and known as one of the leading suppliers of commercial and residential turf in Queensland.

They take considerable pride in their modern farming operations, quality product and experienced team; their operation spans approximately 600 acres and is located just one hour from the Gold Coast.

Your Role

This newly created position which will offer you autonomy and the opportunity to make your mark on this well-established business; by overseeing and improving operations as well as driving growth through additional sales and distribution channels.

The role will be supported by the Director and Board who are forward thinking and encourage ideas to be brought to the table, as well as a highly experienced team of 12 - consisting of growers and mechanics.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for optimising the profitability of the operation, across budgeting, resource allocation, farming operation, and further development of customer and client relationships.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Overseeing the daily organisation of the workforce, logistics arrangements, product deliveries and client communication.

Leading the farming team to ensure an efficient and effective running of the turf farming operation - growing, irrigation, mowing, crop planning etc.

Developing and managing budgets, financial planning, and cost analysis to optimise profitability.

Working with the leadership team to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiencies.

Identify and develop new business opportunities, while building on existing client relationships

Managing workplace health and safety practices (WH&S) and promote a healthy work culture.

About You

Proactive and forward-thinking, you will be a commercially minded leader with proven experience in managing and growing businesses within the agriculture, horticulture or turf industry, or similar.

It is important that you can address the following
- Relevant certificates/qualifications

Proven leadership experience in a commercial management role within the agriculture, horticulture, turf industry or similar.

Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding financial targets and driving business growth.

Excellent financial and commercial acumen.
