**About the role**
The Sport Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing and managing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of sports data for targeted sport programs. This includes implementing and maintaining data systems, conducting data analysis to support decision making and performance optimisation, and developing data-driven insights and recommendations to inform program design and athlete development.
Working closely with counterparts from external stakeholders (National Institute Network, National Sport Organisations, AIS) to ensure NSWIS is aligned and integrated with the national high performance system and able to leverage its capability and resources.

**About you**
- 3+ years experience working with elite athletes and coaches in a high-performance environment in a similar or related role.
- Ability to work with various data sources, platforms and software and a proven ability to work with R, R Studio, Python, MS SQL Server or similar programs.
- Proven capability in project management as evidenced by formal qualifications and/or informal learning.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts, data and analytics in a coach and athlete friendly manner.
- Working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals, combined with an ability to work independently and with a high level of personal initiative and autonomy.

**Essential Requirements**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. data analytics, sports science, statistics)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. R, Python, Excel) and visualisations (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
