**Role Description/Criteria**

St. Thomas More School is part of the Catholic parish of Hadfield. Our vision, compliments that of the parish family and models itself on the life of Jesus Christ. Our student population comprises 416 children from around 20 different cultural backgrounds.

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and informed educator for the leadership role of Wellbeing Leader.

The successful applicant will be offered a ongoing teaching position with the leadership role being a 2 year contract.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- a commitment to Catholic education, and an understanding of the leadership role in Catholic education
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children
- knowledge of current legislation around child safety and other areas linking to wellbeing
- a high level of theoretical and operational knowledge of student wellbeing initiatives
- evidence of working towards or attainment of academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education (e.g. Master’s degree in Wellbeing or other relevant qualification)
- extensive management and leadership experience in Wellbeing
- strong interpersonal, empathetic and negotiating skills and exceptional communication skills
- accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or a willingness to gain this
- current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
