Dementia Care Worker

Community Home Australia is a specialist younger onset dementia service providing permanent care, respite care and day programs across Canberra. We have staffing ratios of 1:3 twenty four hours a day in a non-institutional setting.
We have our own enterprise agreement with Fair Work Australia that offers significantly better wages and entitlements to all other providers in the sector.
Due to significant demand for our services we are looking to engage additional workers for both permanent part time and casual on call roles.
All applicants must:
- hold a Certificate IV in Aged Care or Disability (or equivalent)
- have a desire to work with people living with dementia
- have completed training in medication administration and have experience administering medications
- have a desire and willingness to complete ongoing education and training
- be currently living in Australia
- have authority to work in Australia
The role is a combination of aged care work, activities and household tasks including cleaning, laundry and food preparation. We require all staff to display flexibility and a willingness to engage with our guests to enable them to live their lives as they wish. The homes are managed by a full time Registered Nurse who provides supervision and clinical support and each house has a Team Leader who coordinates daily supports.
