In 1956 the community of Armadale and Kelmscott recognised the need to provide accommodation for elderly residents. From the first public meeting it was clear that the community of Armadale and Kelmscott would make this project happen and to this day we hold fast to the principal that Dale Cottages is an organisation that values all community members. In October 1959 the first duplex opened in John Street Armadale. Since then, our organisation has grown in its mission to care for all community groups.

**About the Role**

The Domestic Assistant will undertake cleaning tasks as required across the facility. They will ensure that the cleaning is completed to a high standard. The Domestic Assistant will maintain infection control procedures as required. They will undertake laundry tasks as required across the facility, such as collecting, washing, and drying. The Domestic Assistant will ensure the laundry is organised appropriately to ensure the resident receives the correct laundry. They will be flexible when undertaking duties in accordance with the needs of the resident and organisation. The Domestic Assistant will communicate appropriately with residents, their relatives/ visitors and all employees, in accordance with the values of Dale Cottages.

**Duties may include but not limited to**:

- Undertakes cleaning tasks such as cleaning floors, emptying bins, cleaning toilets, bathrooms and surfaces as required across the facility.
- Collects, washes (using the washing machines), and dry’s when required.
- Is flexible when undertaking duties in accordance with the needs of the resident and organisation.
- Follows required processes and systems in accordance with Dale Cottages Inc. procedures.
- Reports hazards, near misses and injuries immediately, ensuring safety reporting processes are followed.
- Maintains own professional development and is pro-active and adaptive in learning new concepts.

**Essential**:

- Experience in cleaning duties/tasks.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Effective organisational skills and able to work independently and take initiative.
- Current Police Clearance - no more than 3 months old.
- Proof of 2025 Influenza Vaccination
- All applicants must have permanent work rights.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $28.62 per hour
