Finance Analyst

**What’s the story?**

We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join the team on a contract basis to support our team during our year end. In this role, you will assist the Finance Business Partner (FBP) by providing accurate financial and non-financial analysis and insight to the associated functional units. Includes ad-hoc analysis and financial modelling. You will also assist with budget and forecast planning, monthly reporting and ensuring the integrity of month end results.

This role will also include a variety of Stakeholder engagement where you will work alongside the FBP Data & Technology, Squad Lead for Corporate Share Services and a large number of Hub Leads and Function Heads to help deliver on their financial goals.

**The role**:
As a member of a strong and supportive team, your role involves the following:

- Prepare regular forecasts in conjunction with business units in line with Group timetables and to support internal needs
- Contribute to the month end reporting processes, provide meaningful analysis and commentary on results/budgets/forecasts highlighting drivers of performance, opportunities, risks and implications for the outlook period
- Provide forward trend analysis and a comprehensive level of insight with a whole of business and whole of P&L view
- Help manage Finance Master Data in the General Leger, Planning Tool (BPC) and Accounts Payable Platform (Ariba)
- Assist with the development of robust financial modelling to support business cases, changing resourcing requirements, new initiatives and tender responses
- Data manipulation and data interpretation to enable decision makers to understand the financial implications of business decisions
- Model scenarios, proposals, initiatives to ensure all costs are included in estimates (Include opex/ capex split) and benefits are captured and measurable
- Engage with business to regularly monitor performance against budget and assist in developing corrective strategies where necessary
- Ensure reported results, forecasts and budgets are robust, accurate and prepared in accordance with Medibank and accounting guidelines

**Your impact**:
Through building strong relationships with key stakeholders, you will support the FBP as a trusted financial advisor and negotiator interpreting commercial context to align the agendas of the business with Finance. Supporting FBP and management in understanding key trends, both financial and operational, impacting their business line’s performance and how this may impact current budgets and the broader organisation results.

**Who are you?**
- Tertiary qualifications in a finance, statistical, actuarial or business related discipline
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Management Accounting in a large corporate environment
- Proven ability to successfully build and manage relationships working with leaders
- Demonstrated commercial stakeholder management and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in turning large disparate data into actionable management information and insight, deliverable in a variety of written or verbal formats
