**About us**
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
**About the role**
Reporting to the Manager, Residential Bonds, this position will be responsible for managing and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of $1.5 billion in funds held in the RTBA register. The role requires strong analytical and numerical abilities to generate daily and ad-hoc reports. The role also delivers the reconciliation of manual transactions liaising with a variety of users of the RTBA.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Undertakes the timely and accurate completion of account reconciliations of the Bond register to the bank statements. Reconciles daily receipts and payments and ensures the Bond register balance is both complete and accurate.
- Investigates discrepancies, identifies and resolves any issues or discrepancies that arise during the reconciliation process.
- Liaises with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and ensures a high level of client service delivery and provides assistance on financial accounting matters.
- Builds strong relationships and develops an understanding of others.
**About you**
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills to conduct research, evaluate data and consider solution outcomes before undertaking action.
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and to present clear and reasoned advice and recommendations. Establishes link between work and impact to the community.
- Proven ability to produce specialist financial, budgetary and accounting reports. Identifies common dynamics that appear in different situations and devises innovative and effective solutions while working under deadlines.
**Other requirements**
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or experience in a range of finance related tasks (including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations), would each be highly regarded.
- A thorough understanding of government financial systems would be highly regarded.
