**The Role**:
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our VIC team in the position of HSE Advisor. In this role, you will provide Health Safety and Environmental assistance, advice, training, and support to our VIC staff and trade network.

This position would suit someone who has recently finished uni and is looking to start their career in health and safety, or is progressing into an Advisor position or someone who is experienced and wants another challenge with a growing and diverse business. This role will allow you to support national businesses with operations in multiple states.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Drive & lead a strong safety culture
- Keep up to date with HSE compliance in relevant state & national legislation
- Maintain legal obligations, industry standards & Australian standards
- Implement, maintain & update project specific HSE plans and SWMS for high risk or value jobs
- Liaise with regulatory authorities on matters of Health Safety & Environmental compliance
- Ensure a standard risk management approach is implemented across all businesses in line with our JLG safety management system
- Manage HSE inductions & onboarding process for new internal staff, including HSE training
- Provide advice on HSE matters and issues which arise, in line with company framework and safety management system
- Respond to incidents & emergencies, including investigations, reporting & escalation
- Attend project sites to complete inspections and audits, ensuring safety compliance & performance is being managed
- Other duties as directed by the National HSE Manager & State Managers including monthly reporting & contribution to strategic plans and projects

- Qualification in Work Health & Safety
- Previous experience in the Safety or Construction industry advantageous, however not essential
- Use of safety systems and technology ideal, however not essential
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders
- Superior communication skills, both written & verbal
- Results driven & adaptable
- Excellent organisational skills & attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple / competing priorities & make quick decisions
- Problem solving & process implementation skills
- Ability to analyse & interpret data, laws & regulations
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Valid driver licence
- Construction White Card (preferred or to undertake during employment)
- Working with Children Check (preferred or to undertake during employment)
