Quality Assurance Specialist

**The Role**

To uphold these high standards, and due to growth in our business, we are looking for a switched-on, organised and highly competent Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position working from our Riverstone site, Monday to Friday. The role will be on a rotating 8 hour shift basis, between 6am to 6pm.

As part of this role, you will take the lead on overall Food Safety and Quality Assurance for the business, and will be the key point of contact for all internal and external food safety and quality matters. You will work closely with the CEO, QA Officer, Production Supervisors and operational staff to drive and effect change.

Some of your day to day responsibilities in this multi-faceted role will be as follows:

- Implementation and on-going administration of the SQF quality management system
- Manage SQF pre-requisite programs such as training, approved suppliers, traceability, food defense to name a few.
- Writing and developing procedures and policies to requisite standards, and implementing change to drive results
- Developing product specifications and PIFs in conjunction with NPD team and clients
- Conducting shelf life studies
- Hands-on involvement on the factory floor - spending time on the factory floor, conducting GMP audits, observing and verifying production processes
- Checking and verifying daily QA records
- Liaising with production and packing teams regarding food safety matters
- Conducting training for new and existing staff
- Conducting internal audits and management reviews
- Raising and closing corrective actions and customer complaints
- Continuous monitoring and improvement of food safety and quality systems to ensure our products are best in class in the market
- Acting as the key point of contact for all external food safety audits

**What we are looking for**
- Formal qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Microbiology or related fields
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar Food Safety or Quality Assurance Role
- Formal training or experience with HACCP, FSSC22000, BRC and SQF systems
- Sound knowledge of external customer standards (Woolworths, Coles, Costco)
- Knowledge of export regulations a plus
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to drive change
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Self starter, takes the initiative to implement new ideas and systems to improve food safety and quality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to manage internal and external stakeholders (employees, customers, regulatory bodies etc)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
