**Position Description - Field Service Technician**

**Overview**

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of the company’s fleet of gelato, acai and frozen yoghurt machines and showcase display cabinets located across Australia. The role requires strong technical skills in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, with a focus on ensuring reliability, safety, and optimal performance of equipment in the field.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Install, assemble, commission, and test ice-cream machines, acai machines, gelato equipment, and showcase display cabinets at customer sites.
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions in electrical, electronic, and mechanical components using appropriate testing tools and methods.
- Repair, calibrate, and replace defective parts, PC boards, sensors, compressors, motors, controllers, and other system components.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Update and configure software or firmware on control boards and ensure equipment is running the latest versions.
- Train customers on correct operating procedures, safe use, and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance through remote diagnostic tools where available and adjust operational settings to meet customer requirements.
- Prepare service reports, maintain accurate records of work performed, and track parts usage.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company standards during all on-site and workshop activities.
- Liaise with spare parts and logistics teams to source, order, and replace parts and consumables as required.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- AQF Certificate III including at least 2 years of relevant experience, or Certificate IV in a relevant trade, or at least 3 years’ relevant experience in lieu of qualifications.
- In addition to relevant qualifications, a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities across electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
- Competence in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and specialised service instruments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical training to non-technical users.
- Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in the field.
- Commitment to occupational health and safety practices.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
