Communications & Government Affairs Manager

This role will closely support the Director of Communications & Government Affairs ANZ and ASEAN, focusing on the ANZ business.

Communications
- Media relations
- Issues and crisis management
- MD, LT and Mill Manager communications
- Work with PR agency on proactive PR opportunities to position KCANZ as a leader in our field, particularly across innovation and sustainability.

Government Affairs:
With the support of our GR agency:

- Work with state governments (and corporate distributors where relevant) to pitch and roll-out period products in schools across Australia.
- Ongoing relationship building across Federal Government and State Governments, particularly the South Australian Government.
- Staying close to plastics and climate regulations and manage risks accordingly.

Sustainability:

- Stakeholder engagement, for example: cross-sector; retailers; AFGC; waste industry to help create proactive opportunities for KC
- Scale nappy recycling program with KCANZ’s Sustainability and Communications Manager
- Explore recycling opportunities for our other products
- Regularly connect with global and regional colleagues to deliver shared learnings and stay across the latest innovation that supports our 50% less plastic 2030 target.
- Support the delivery of our social impact programs and progress against our targets.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITES**

**STRATEGY**
- Support the Director of Communications & Government Affairs ANZ and ASEAN to deliver across the full spectrum of corporate affairs for K-CANZ.

**FINANCIAL**
- (Understanding and defining the true costs of conducting business)_
- Influence leaders to pursue activities that support the corporate affairs agenda and therefore create opportunities and reduce risks for K-C.

**CUSTOMER / CONSUMER**

Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of accurate and consistent messaging to external stakeholders.

**PEOPLE**
- Ensure own behaviours are consistent with K-C’s values and ways of working.

Make an active contribution to the team environment, through sharing knowledge and collaborating with others to build an engaged workplace.

**CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

**Qualifications** (e.g. Tertiary, trade)

Bachelor Degree

Communications and/or Government related disciplines preferred.

**Essential Skills**
- Proven experience working in communications and/or government relations
- Experience working in or with the FMCG sector
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and management of communications and government strategies
- Passion for driving sustainable business solutions that deliver shared value
- Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
- Proven ability to work independently and lead projects from start to finish
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Show leadership qualities to drive engagement
- Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with government stakeholders, NGOs, community or industry influencers
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
