This is an exciting phase in our history and we are looking for talented Configuration Manager based in Melbourne, to join our Major Service Provider ( MSP) Division as we embark on our next phase of growth.

Our MSP Division, is part of a consortium of independent, technical partners, which include Nova Systems and PwC; supported by a range of specialist SMEs. We share and support Defence’s commitment to growing and improving Australia’s military capability. We do this by delivering large, long term, integrated work packages across the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). In doing so we work closely with both uniformed and public service staff to help plan the acquisition and support of advanced military systems and equipment through the provision of rigorous analysis, advice and assurance; we relish solving the unique and challenging problems this work entails.

About the Role

The Configuration Manager (CM) will work within a multidisciplinary team out of Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) (Brisbane) as a valued member of the QinetiQ Operations and Delivery team, focused on the delivery of exceptional customer outcomes and support across a diverse range of capabilities for the entire Equipment Fleet in sustainment. These activities may include logistics planning, governance and assurance and commercial activities, leading to the delivery of state-of-the-art capability that supports our personnel in the field as well as ensuring that their capabilities transition into sustainment.

**Key responsibilities will include**:
Document a configuration management (CM) concept that spans the complete development cycle that references industry best practice and supports the use of industry standard design methodologies including Agile.

Ownership and improvement of the Configuration Management strategy, plan and processes;
Identity CM requirements that cover the system, hardware, software and data/info requirements.

Manage and deliver the CM requirements against the overall CM plan for the programme.

Responsible for developing and maintaining the configuration management plan, defining, implementing and managing version control and processes.

Collaborate with the project design / build team in support of multiple, concurrent configuration baselines in line with the CM Plan.

Provide guidance to engineers on the Configuration Management Processes

The ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and delivery partners.

**Key Requirements for role**:
Extensive hands-on working experience of configuration management within a systems engineering Defence Project.

Experienced CM practitioner in all hardware and software CM related disciplines, including Configuration Control, Configuration Status Accounting, CM Audits, Baseline Management, Software Configuration Management, CM database requirements and as-built management.

Ability to perform within a multi-functional programme team comprising both company staff and the customer.

Demonstrated ability to organise own work and those of others.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multi-functional teams and businesses dealing with software, hardware and data products.
