We have an opportunity for an Importing Assistant to join and support our National Purchasing Department. Reporting to the Imports Manager, you will serve as a point of contact for Suppliers, Planners and Freight Forwarders in the entire shipment process.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Manage and update shipments as required
- Follow ups with relevant stakeholders and the updating shipping documentation
- Invoice reconciliation against shipment value
- Understanding, updating and using the DAX Inbound transport module infrastructure to allow both current and future shipment creation
- General communications with relevant stakeholders regarding the entire shipment process
- Giving planners and sales people ‘estimated landed costings’ as requested
- Updating of purchase orders as requested or as needed
- General manipulation of Excel spreadsheets for reporting and reference use
- Taking responsibility for the ‘into store’ dates on items placed in an active shipment

**Requirements for the role**:

- Previous Freight or Purchasing experience will be highly regarded
- Be a customer service superstar
- Have high-level organisational skills and the ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
- Be proactive, enthusiastic and able to work in a dynamic, collaborative team environment
- Be confident, professional and have excellent interpersonal skills
- Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Have strong problem-solving skills and a high level of initiative
- Be competent using Excel and other Microsoft suite products
