We are currently seeking a** Facilitator/Lead Educator** and** Educator** for our Play Connect Plus Program.
Our **Play Connect Plus Program** is a supported playgroup designed to support families of children with autism, developmental delays and/or behavioural concerns 0 - 6 years of age. The program looks to increase developmental outcomes for children, connect parents with other local parents and link families to relevant information and services in the community. This role engages with children attending in early learning experiences that benefit their development.
**Facilitator/Lead Educator**
**About the Role**
Facilitators are responsible for the implementation and programming of each playgroup session. This includes setting up an inviting and aesthetic environment and implementing a playgroup routine with thoughtful and purposeful play experiences based on the attending children’s strengths, interests and emerging skills. Facilitators will also be required to make families feel welcome, help them connect with other families, build parental capacity and confidence and provide a range of information and linkages to relevant supports and mainstream services in the community.
**About You**
- Minimum Cert III in Child Related Studies or currently studying within a relevant field;
- Demonstrated experience working with children with autism, developmental delays and behavioural challenges;
- Strong knowledge & understanding of issues facing parents and carers of children with special needs;
- Experience and understanding of early childhood development and play using a child-led approach;
- Knowledge of local disability and family services or willingness to learn;
- Facilitation/leadership skills with ability to work autonomously and confidently;
- Working with Children’s Check Clearance (essential);
- Ability to lift children and equipment where required;
- First Aid Certificate preferable;
- Access to computer, phone and internet.
**Educator**
The Educator will support the Facilitator/Lead Educator by engaging with children attending in early learning experiences that benefit their development so that families can benefit from the peer support Play Connect Plus offer.
**About the Role**
- plan and provide a range of developmentally appropriate activities;
- communicate with participants about the specific needs of their child;
- support parents in the implementation of positive strategies to assist with the child's development;
- help with set up and pack away of the learning environment and maintain an aesthetically pleasing environment;
- interact positively with children and parents and encourage participation, language development, self-help skills and social interactions that are purposeful activities.
**About You**
- Minimum Cert III in Child Related Studies;
- Experience working in an early childhood setting and capacity to work with children with special needs;
- Strong knowledge of development through play practices and positive parenting strategies;
- A proven capacity and experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse, Indigenous and vulnerable families;
- Ability to lift children and equipment when required;
- Working with Children Check verification letter to present on commencement (essential);
- First Aid Certificate preferable.
