**The Role**
Defence Member and Family Support Branch (DMFS) offers a broad range of programs and services to help Australian Defence Force members and their families manage the military way of life. The Directorate of Community Engagement deliver a number of programs and services to assist Defence families and their communities. The APS 6 - Program Manager will be accountable for the day to day supervision of staff, administration of entitlements, enhancement of program and engagement support provided to families, and reporting and assurance activities.

**About our Team**
The team is small and highly efficient, in delivering governance, funding and support to Defence families and organisations that support Defence families and their communities. The team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes in support of Defence members, their families and the Defence community as well as builds and sustains effective relationships with team members across a regionally based workforce.
- Lead and manage a small team; allocate work, resources and tasks, manage priorities and workflows.
- Build and maintain relationships; engage with internal and external stakeholders, respond to enquiries, problem solve and provide guidance on complex issues.
- Research, evaluate and analyse data; produce high level written work including performance reports, briefs, discussion papers and complex correspondence.
- Support and contribute to ongoing continuous improvement activities; raise program awareness, develop and implement appropriate procedures and work practices.
