The Machining Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day production activities of the Mint’s Toolroom team, consisting of Machinists, Apprentice Fitter/Machinists and Production Operators. They ensure the team perform work in accordance with Mint procedures and supervise the day-to-day operation of the team including job scheduling, and managing performance, attendance and leave.

The Machining Supervisor assists with the coordination, management and scheduling of manufacturing activities to ensure that equipment and resources are efficiently utilised to meet production outcomes. They work closely with trade-qualified, production staff and management to undertake safety and hazard assessments and ensure employees comply with work health and safety requirements.

The duties of this position include:
1. Overseeing the production of precision machined components and coinage tools by the Toolroom team, including identifying, analysing and correcting issues.
2. Supervising the day-to-day operation of the Toolroom team including job scheduling, managing performance, attendance and leave, and mentoring junior tradespeople and apprentices.
3. Managing or supporting the implementation of continuous improvement and procurement projects related to the Toolroom.
4. Quoting/estimating routings for production orders for internal and external work.
5. Generating and maintaining design approval documentation.
7. Ensuring toolroom processes comply with relevant industry standards by maintaining up to date knowledge of best practices, regulatory change and applicable standards including ISO 9001.
8. Undertaking safety and hazard assessments and ensuring the toolroom team comply with work health and safety requirements.
9. Liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including clients and suppliers.

**Qualifications**
A certificate in fitting/machining or toolmaking is required for this position.
