**About the NSW Crime Commission**:
The NSW Crime Commission's purpose is to disrupt, reduce and prevent the incidence of organised and other serious crime in New South Wales. The Commission is structured into functional Divisions consisting of operational and support teams.

The function of conducting criminal investigations is assigned to the Commission’s Operations Division. Investigations are typically conducted pursuant to a Management Committee reference to investigate or approval to work in cooperation with a joint task force comprising one or more of the Commission’s partner agencies. The Operations Division is also responsible for the Commission’s Strategic Intelligence capability, the provision of specialist investigative support services and the provision of advice and recommendations to Government in relation to minimising the impact of serious and organised crime on the NSW community.

**About the role**

The Intelligence Analyst is responsible for undertaking concurrent criminal and financial investigations or intelligence projects in accordance with Commission references, policies and procedures by interrogating databases and other sources, grading and analysing available data / information, and presenting logical and succinct conclusions through written reports and verbal briefings. The role liaises extensively with internal and external stakeholders, and shares strategies, methodologies, techniques and learnings to contribute to effective investigative outcomes. Commission Intelligence Analysts support investigations and intelligence projects tactically, operationally and strategically. In accordance with Commission policy, the Intelligence Analyst may be assigned to different teams from time to time.

**Security Vetting**

The Crime Commission Regulation 2022 under the Crime Commission Act 2012 stipulates that it is a condition of employment at the Commission that a member of staff obtain and maintain:

- a security clearance issued by the Commissioner, and
- a security clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency that the Commissioner determines is necessary for the position

**Targeted Questions**

**Question 1**:Provide an example of how you planned, conducted and/ or influenced the direction of an investigation, inquiry or intelligence project. Describe your approach, key challenges and the outcome.

**Question 2**: Law enforcement is increasingly reliant on data and analytics to drive their operational decision making. Please provide an example of a project or investigation you have worked on where you were responsible for extracting, analysing and presenting data in a meaningful format? What approach did you take? What challenges did you face and how did you overcome these challenges? What was the outcome?
