We require a Principal / HoD with an established career and reputation in Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering to work alongside our global Smart Mobility practice. To succeed in this role, you should have relevant qualifications and industry associations in Transport Planning/Engineering with 15 plus years of professional experience in areas of urban mobility with a focus on project management/planning/ design of transport schemes within Australia.
You will be self-motivated and highly enthusiastic about business development and growing awareness of our business in Australia. It is vital that you have excellent relationships with both public and private sector clients. You will work with our other disciplines already established in Australia to expand our Smart Mobility offering.

**You will join our Smart Mobility department**
The Principal - Smart Mobility will be responsible for the development and growth of the Australian Smart Mobility area and assist in growing this business and the team over the next few years. It is expected that the principal will have experience in a combination of the following areas, Traffic Engineering, Transport Planning, Urban / Master Planning, Intelligent Transport Systems, and Transport Modelling. They will have over 15 years of experience and demonstrable skills in thought leadership, client management, and consulting.
The role will include senior consulting work, business development activities, the development of the Sydney business plan, the implementation of the strategy, and the growth of business in the Sydney market. The role will report to Regional Director, based in Singapore, and work closely with the broader Ramboll Australia and New Zealand activities.
**Your key tasks and responsibilities will be**:
- Together with Senior Management, to help develop and execute a clear business development plan for Ramboll Smart Mobility Australia.
- To strengthen the foothold in the Australian transport planning market, fully supported by international experts within the Ramboll group and our unique experience in leading the best practice for sustainable transport planning
- To enhance marketing material, proposals, presentations, etc. to support business development and project management
- To manage Smart Mobility projects from inception to final delivery with the support of our international team
- Developing and implementing sales strategies and carrying out business development activities with the support of the Regional Director
- Monitoring customer and competitor activity and industry trends
- Client management and interaction with business associates, partners, sub-consultants
- Leading external tender/bidding processes
- Training and mentoring team members
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of transport planning and modeling
- Contribute to our process of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing relating to the Smart Mobility business

**Qualifications & Professional Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Traffic Engineering or other types of Engineering.
- Postgraduate studies will be highly regarded.
- 15 plus years of professional experience in areas of urban mobility with an on-business development/project management/planning/design of transport schemes within Australia Knowledge of transport modelling and traffic engineering software i.e. VISSIM, VISUM, Cube, Sidra, etc.
- Experience in managing and developing of team
- Have industry-wide knowledge and contacts in both public and private sector organizations
- Experience in developing business plans for Transport Consultancy
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and have a strong customer focus.
