**About the Business Unit**:
The Safeguarding, Inclusion and Volunteer Programs area of OPA encompasses three sub programs: Community Visitors, Independent Third Person and Volunteer Coordination. The Community Visitor Program focuses on protecting the human rights of people in care via regular visits by volunteers covering three streams - disability, mental health and residential services. The Volunteer Co-ordination area is responsible for recruiting, training and supporting OPA's volunteers.
**About the Role**:
This Training and Volunteer Engagement Officer will be responsible for training, communication, management and support to volunteers to ensure they understand their role, act in accordance with the program's human rights ethos as well as its policies and procedures to support clients effectively. The position also assists with overall program direction under the supervision of the ITP Program Coordinator.
**About You**:
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Demonstrated skill and experience in the development and delivery of training packages that respond to the diverse needs of adult learners.
- Demonstratedknowledge of and experience in volunteer management practices, and a thorough understanding of National Volunteering Standards.
- Understands and applies advanced computer skills to complex word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, or database functions.
