We have a fantastic new opportunity at our B9 Paper Mill in Botany, NSW to join the business in a senior leadership role as our Engineering and Maintenance Manager.

This role will provide leadership to the Botany Mills engineering, maintenance, purchasing and project functions, playing a key role in delivering strategic objectives as a member of the operational leadership team.

You will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities of the site maintenance team and lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce planned and unplanned downtime and cost of maintenance. This role also includes the management of main and third-party maintenance providers.

In addition, you will manage all activities of the site engineering team to conduct capital improvement projects to improve output and cost of production as well as larger strategic site developments.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

- Managing and leading site engineering and maintenance teams and expenditure
- Overseeing the day-to-day management of the primary maintenance provider
- Managing site purchasing and aiming to reduce the cost of directly purchased spares
- Managing the site projects team
- Managing site service level agreements
- Mentoring, coaching and developing your team to support world class manufacturing and customer focused work culture

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;
- A Degree qualification in engineering, preferably electrical, automation or mechanical
- Experience in an engineering and maintenance leadership role within the manufacturing industry
- Previous experience working in the paper industry
- Well-developed leadership skills and a focus on effectively mentoring, coaching and developing teams
- Successful track record of implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives and change management
