**The Role**

The position of **Teacher - Redan Work Experience and Enterprise Program (RWEEP)** will work at the Aspect Western Sydney school to actively support students in making decisions about their future based on their strengths, interests and employment aspirations.

The role will involve developing and supporting students in Years 10, 11 & 12 (currently 20 students) in realising their potential and building their confidence, enterprise skills and readiness to transition to employment pathways and securing employment post-school.

This role will involve working with external stakeholders to provide experiences and opportunities for participating students. This role is currently being significantly expanded and is reliant on grant funding supported by the Redan Foundation. Click here to view the Position Profile.

**About the School**:
Aspect Western Sydney School provides placement for approximately 160 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 12. Our main site is located at Wetherill Park with 14 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools across the Western and South Western regions of Sydney.

**What we are looking for**:
The core functions of the role will be to;
- secure employment pathways aligned to students’ strengths interests and readiness to participate in work experience program.
- plan and organise the Aspect Western Sydney work experience timetable and opportunities in conjunction with each student’s learning program.
- liaise and collaborate with parents/carers, students and teachers to plan, implement and monitor employment milestones prior to a transition post-school
- supervise and direct Teachers’ Aides who support the RWEEP
- organise whole day training days for students to include job search strategies, resume writing, interview techniques and personal presentations.
- research, promote and procure employment and transition courses, both online and tailored programs to engage students
- complete termly RWEEP Reports to outline achievements and milestones along with financial acquittals to the Redan Foundation and Aspect Philanthropy Team.
- report to the Principal through the nominated Coordinator to regularly seek support and approvals for internal resourcing and planning requirements in support of the operational needs of the school.
- ensure that programs and resources are maintained within the final budget framework

**Essential**
- Previous experience in delivering a Work Education and/or work experience program in a high school context highly desirable
- Highly developed skills in planning, networking and evaluating the impact of a work education and work experience pathways program
- NESA Teacher accreditation approval to teach in NSW
- Evidence of strong networked connections and reach in sourcing and expanding employment relationships with businesses/employers to support our work experience program.
- Demonstrated understanding of supporting autistic students and contributing to each students Individual Planning and collaboration meetings with parents/carers and students.
- NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
- Depending on the school's location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver's licence
- You may be required to provide an international police clearance
