**About the School**

One of the larger Schools within La Trobe University is the School of Psychology and Public Health. The School comprises the Department of Psychology, Counselling and Therapy, the Department of Public Health and four research centres: the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, The Bouverie Centre, the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research and the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre. With the aim of contributing to understanding human behaviour, and enhancing the health and well-being of individuals, groups and communities, the School undertakes teaching and research across a broad range of disciplines.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Provost and taking a whole-of-school approach, the Dean of the School of the School of Psychology and Public Health will provide strategic and unifying leadership across the departments. and its prestigious research centres and specialist units. This includes accountability for the academic workforce, and the performance of the School in the domains of learning and teaching, research, and industry engagement and partnerships. Building on solid foundations, and ensuring alignment with the University’s strategy, the Dean will guide the future direction of the School, upholding its attractiveness to students and staff, anticipating opportunities for growth in student demand, cultivating research partnerships with industry and government, and fostering collaboration with other Schools. Critical to success in this role will be drawing on the intrinsic motivation of the members of a dedicated academic and administrative community, and reinforcing the high-performing and engaged culture with its commitment to excellence and inclusion. As a member of the Senior Leadership Group, the appointee will play an active leadership role across the University.
