
Principal Adviser, Health Sector Funding Project Budgets

**About the role**:
This Principal Advisor plays a critical strategic leadership and advisory role to the Senior Executive Director (SED). The Principal Advisor is responsible for leading the Office of the Senior Executive Director as well asand supporting the SED to coordinate and deliver key team outputs; and identifying and managing issues and risks arising across the work program of the Funding, Productivity & Budgets team.
Managing relationships with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, resolution of complex issues and provision of strategic advice and support to Senior Executive Director and the wider Hospitals Victoria branch executives are key to success in this role. The position ensures effective management of branch accountabilities and responses including Cabinet submissions, strategic planning, communications, qualitycommissioning and quality assurance of analysis to support decision-making, reporting, and senior executive liaison. The position operates with a high-level of professionalism, initiative and autonomy.

**Key Role Responsibilities**
- Provide high-level authoritative and coordinated advice to the Senior Executive Director
- Contribute to the strategic planning process and enable effective work practices for the Funding, Productivity & Budgets team
- Provide quality assurance across the team's full range of outputs and deliverables
- Foster a network of strong relationships with stakeholders within the Department of Health and with others including central agencies
**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**
- A tertiary qualification in business or financial management, public administration, public policy or equivalent would be advantageous.
- A strong understanding of the Victorian public sector is essential.
