**About you in the role**

You are a capable leader and career driven undertaking projects across the company’s transport infrastructure, property/development, oil and gas, and energy resources industries.

You will lead an engineering function, directing other professionals engaged in interrelated engineering activities and act as an authority in an engineering discipline of major importance to the organisation.

You will independently direct engineering work programs and lead organisation development of new engineering policies, practices, methods and problem solving to ensure organisation objectives are optimised.

**Requirements**:

- Tertiary Civil / Structural Engineering qualification
- Minimum 5-10 years post-graduation consulting design experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Detailed knowledge of Australian & International codes and standards and good engineering practice
- Capability and flexibility to handle multiple projects in restricted timeframes to support line of business and project goals

**Your duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Maintaining engineering and design practices and standards in the organisation
- Provision of engineering design work in accordance with Australian Standards, meeting industry best practice
- Provide lead input on bids and proposals, review bids prior to submission
- Actively seek business opportunities and market the company’s capabilities
- Provide ongoing supervision, mentoring and training of junior engineers
- Participate in the development of technical skills and engineering team members
- Provide technical assistance to other internal departments regarding engineering projects
