**Neuroscience Research Australia's**
**(NeuRA)** goal is to prevent, treat and cure brain and nervous system diseases, disorders, and injuries through medical research.
**Celebrating 30 years** of impact this year, NeuRA’s work is more critical than ever and has provided new insights into neurological and mental health conditions, including dementia, pain, schizophrenia and more.
**The Role - Philanthropy Manager**
The role is an
**outward-facing relationship role **with the clear
**objective of increasing income** through identifying and acquiring
**high-net-worth donors and trusts and foundations.**
As Philanthropy Manager, you will work closely with the Foundation Director, CEO and Foundation Board Directors to
**meet strategic objectives** and develop strong donor relationships and networks.
The current Major Gifts portfolio generates
**$3 million+** for the organisation. You'll use your expertise to
**steward, strengthen, and grow**
**relationships** with the existing portfolio (approx. 100), as well as cultivating new relationships with potential donors.
You will work closely with NeuRA researchers in the
**development of compelling proposals** and in the
**acquisition** and stewardship of supporters.
You will develop and manage a Fundraising Officer, who is responsible for the scholarship and bequest programs and event coordination.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Identify, cultivate & secure major donor prospects, trusts & foundations & donor networks
- Develop donor communication plans & progress reports
- Drive & develop a culture of philanthropy across the Institute including training researchers in best-practice donor relations
- With the support of the Fundraising Officer, run prospect & donor events
- Ensure effective use of the CRM (RE NXT)

- Ability to build & sustain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals
- A creative thinker who can be resourceful in your approach
- Professional with the gravitas and confidence to represent a premium brand
- Passionate about the importance of medical research
- Excellent influencing skills
- Outstanding written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to self-manage, prioritise multiple deadlines & work independently
- Confident using a CRM effectively
