**The Opportunity**:
The **Sydney design studio** is looking for a **Visual Assessment Specialist**to join **the Visual Impact Assessment team,**within the wider national Design Team. If you are passionate about shaping the visual character and built form of our cities and communities, read on
This role involves delivering high quality objective, technical analysis, built form massing solutions and assessing the effects and impacts of visual change across our cities, landscapes and unique visual contexts. This role is based in Sydney, but involves working across a wide range of National Design and Planning urban, rural and renewable energy projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure your position in this established but growing, specialised field.
**You will**:
As a Visual Assessment SC you will be responsible for fieldwork, project management, graphics, built form visual impact mitigation strategies, assessing visual effects and impacts of new development including;
Infill housing, tower forms, renewable energy (solar farms) and design virtual assistant to prepare certifiable 3D photomontages for Visual Assessments for a wide range of large-scale projects. This will involve fieldwork, photography, understanding and compiling various data sets and preparing final 'client ready' visual aids.
In particular you will need to;
- Have a strong understanding of all State and Local Government planning frameworks
- Strong understanding and experience in Visual Impact Assessment (VIA)
- Strong understanding and experience in Landscape VIA
- Interest or awareness Land and Environment Court of NSW planning principles relevant to visual impacts
- Your delivery of project work will meet established commercial targets, that supports the design team nationally
**About you**:
- You will have a Town Planning, Landscape Architecture or Urban Design related tertiary qualification and be able to work efficiently with Adobe Suite programmes.
- You may also have an understanding of the process of preparation of accurate visual aids (photomontages) via the use of 3D modelling experience in Studio Max, GIS lite, and 3D software programmes eg Revit/Sketchup is highly desirable.
- You may have an awareness of the Land and Environment Court of NSW photomontage policy requirements.
