Job Summary:
The Service Technician role works autonomously, under guidance to provide practical hands on support to customers in the Emergency Services Industry. This technical, problem solving role performs the installation of mobile data equipment (hardware) into emergency vehicles, analysis of service requests and maintenance of repair activities in the field as well as in the workshop.

This key customer facing, and technical solution role works independently and as a valued team member to deliver efficient solutions in a timely manner to meet established SLA (Service Level Agreements).

**Responsibilities**:
Working under general guidance from the Service Team Leader, the Service Technician undertakes the following routine responsibilities in a professional manner:
Installations, Fault Diagnosis and Rectification-
- Provide 1st tier diagnosis for all assigned faults within specified response times.- Provide 2nd tier analysis for all assigned systemic issues in collaboration with other Trapeze technical and engineering resources.- Assemble, test and perform basic repair on all vehicle and equipment assemblies deemed repairable in-house.- Program and test all components prior to deployment, or after items have been returned from the field or Suppliers.- Undertake all assigned in-field proactive and reactive requests of mobile data equipment to expected levels of workmanship and to the agreed SLAs for the given customer service agreement.- Ensure all installations and maintenance are conducted in a safe manner and to OH&S Regulation guidelines resulting in no lost work time due to injury.- Fully complete maintenance field records with a high level of detail and 100% accuracy and ensure that they are stored appropriately on the Service Desk Database.- Update and maintain all mandatory Equipment and Software Configuration details using the asset management system.- Ensure that rigorous measures are employed to provide and maintain quality products and services to our valued customers.

Documentation- Assist in the preparation or update of installation/maintenance manuals, work instructions and investigative reports.- Update and maintain assigned Job Details, Faults and Issue Tracking details using Trapeze’s supplied systems.- Update of time keeping records of time spent on each activity.- Ensure any process changes are captured by document updates.

Stock Control- Assist in control of all spare and faulty inventories.- Strictly update and maintain all mandatory Equipment location details using the asset management system.- Advise management of sundry items requiring replenishment.

Other- Undertake any other reasonable tasks consistent with training and skills levels required for this position as requested.

Education and Experience- Relevant Qualifications or an equivalent level of experience in either low voltage electrical or automotive roles in a customer facing environment.- Minimum of one to three (1-3) years’ experience in the field of electronics installation and repair in a customer facing environment.- Experience and demonstrated understanding in undertaking investigation and analysis of hardware issues and management through to resolution to the required standard.- Experience in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams.- Proven ability to identify electrical circuits.- A high level of computer/technology acumen.

Travel- The position may involve occasional domestic travel within Australia and overseas.- All air travel is economy class.
