**Position Information**:
Callaghan College Waratah Campus is a 7 -10 comprehensive high school of 898 students, providing quality learning. The campus is part of Callaghan College, a leader in the provision of outstanding educational and training opportunities across three campuses. Experienced staff are dedicated to innovative curriculum delivery with a focus on quality teaching and learning that embeds technology and a strong commitment to high quality professional learning. Waratah Campus is a proud member of the Callaghan Education Pathways, a K-12 learning community uniting the three college campuses and fifteen partner primary schools to provide specialised learning environments and a continuum of learning for students. Our school takes pride in our diverse and unique context. Students come from diverse backgrounds including 16% Aboriginal and 23% of students who have a language background other than English. Performance data shows excellence in student growth, and achievement data in the external NAPLAN and VALID assessments are strengthening.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a highly visible member of a leadership team that promotes a culture of high expectations that is underpinned by evidence informed practice.
- Demonstrated capacity and commitment to strengthen engagement of all students, including students with disability, complex and challenging behaviours, and additional needs.
- Proactive leadership to further develop and sustain wellbeing initiatives that promote a strong positive culture, enhance student engagement and belonging and build authentic connections for all students.
- Proven capacity to collaborate with and lead school teams, that enhance collective staff efficacy leading to school improvement and innovation.
- Demonstrated capacity and experience in whole school planning and evaluations to inform practice and align to all aspects of the School Excellence Framework.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
