Lyell McEwin Hospital - The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital - A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.

**About the Role**:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Consultant / Clinical Academic within the Women & Children's Division.

As a Consultant / Clinical Academic in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will contribute to the delivery of high quality medical services to patients of the Women & Children’s Division.

In this role you will act as a clinical lead for academic work at the NALHN. This includes driving and participating in research, supporting others in research needs, acting as a mentor for registrar research projects, and encouraging and supporting audit and professional development.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

- overseeing medical student training at NALHN.
- providing appraisals of medical undergraduate and trainee medical officers assigned to the unit.
- participation in both academic and clinical work at NALHN.
- managing the care of all patients allocated to them in collaboration with the responsible Resident Medical Officers, Registrars, fellow Consultants, Midwives, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
- care of patients in outpatient clinics and patients admitted to hospital.
- supervising and participating in operating lists.
- involvement in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and auditing.
- mentoring and being a resource for Midwives.
- providing teaching to trainees of all levels and disciplines.
- participating in all ongoing training and CPD requirements.
- participating in and encouraging clinical research.
- providing advice and guidance for RANZCOG research requirements.

In this role you will participate in a 24/7 on call consultant roster.
