Chevron Australia Downstream is seeking to appoint a Planning Analyst, Value Chain Optimization (VCO) consolidating the demands and inventory management across Australia and conducting the economic analysis for the clean fuels supply planning and execution phase. The role will work closely with local Australia Sales teams and the Regional Natural Work Team (NWT) to optimize and analyze value-chain opportunities to reduce operational costs and add value to the enterprise. This opportunity will be based in Brisbane.

**Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to**:

- Accountable for developing the clean fuels product demand forecast and inventory management for Chevron Australia’s Retail, C&I and Bulk Sales customers. Drive the cross-functional demand forecasting process by working collaboratively on inputs with District Sales Managers, Business Consultants, and Pricing.
- Australia’s point of contact for value chain economic optimization and analysis in the planning and execution phase by involving key local and regional stakeholders to drive the most economic fuels supply plan for the Australia business and the Chevron enterprise.
- Work closely with Regional VCO, Trading, Shipping, Local Commercial Coordinator, Sales, Pricing and Terminals to optimize the supply plan to meet the forecasted and actual product demands which can include imports and 3rd party sales or purchase negotiations.
- Influence action and accountability by others to drive towards adding incremental margin and reducing costs for Australia and the Chevron enterprise in the planning and execution phase.
- Facilitate weekly and monthly planning and execution meetings to share demand vs. actuals and drive accountability and action to help close discrepancies or react in most economic way for the enterprise to minimize costs associated with managing volumes above or below forecast.
- Monitor and analyze weekly actual sales & inventory position. Evaluates inventory deviations from plan, recommends corrective actions to cross functional teams, and reports results.
- Australia’s contact for any competency gaps in the Kinaxis demand forecasting tool and work processes. Builds commercial capabilities across sales teams and analysts by managing tool and process enhancements to meet the changing requirements of the business.
- Support Australia VCO organizational capability improvements by implementing best practice standardized tools and work processes.
- Leads relevant change management efforts, and influence process improvements resulting in continuous measurable improvements to financial results or business unit performance.
- Support monthly business review financial lookbacks financial impact of supply plan including inventory build/draw. Make value captured in other parts of the enterprise visible to local and regional stakeholders.

**Required Qualifications and Skills**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- 7+ years of experience in commercial negotiation, sales or supply chain optimization preferred.
- Strong business acumen and operational analysis skills required.
- Skilled in data-driven decisions, analysis of trade-off decisions, and risk-based decision making.
- Effective verbal and written communicator and able to quickly build relationships with various stakeholders and teams.
- Proven ability to proactively identify issues and quickly involve the right people to address.
- Understanding of COT dynamics, pricing impacts, market growth projections, demand shifts related to price arbitrage, etc.
- Experience with Kinaxis strongly preferred
- Experience with SAP is preferred
- Proficient in Office products such as MS Excel, PowerPoint
