Overview

We\'re seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join a leading infrastructure services organisation delivering major projects across South Queensland. Based in Ormeau, this full-time role will see you play a critical part in ensuring environmental compliance and advancing sustainability outcomes on a large-scale project.

The Role

Working closely with the Environmental Manager and Project Manager, you will:

  • Provide qualified advice on environmental and sustainability matters to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Implement and monitor project-specific environmental management and sustainability plans.
  • Conduct site inspections and work with supervisors to ensure compliance with approvals and initiatives.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and drive corrective actions.
  • Review contractor environmental plans and provide guidance on organisational requirements.
  • Support bid teams with environmental inputs for tenders and proposals.
  • Maintain environmental and sustainability registers, data, and reporting.
  • Contribute to business improvement programs and propose innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in environmental compliance or management, ideally within project-based environments.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental approvals and monitoring requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, operational teams, and contractors.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering environmental initiatives and achieving sustainability outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with a consultative and proactive approach.
