WSP’s Sustainability team is a diverse and dynamic team of professionals, passionate about embedding authentic sustainability outcomes. We are part of WSP’s global network of dedicated Sustainability teams, established in some of the world's most progressive marketplaces for sustainable buildings.
Our Australian team comprises 70 consultants from diverse backgrounds including engineers, architects, renewable energy specialists, environmental scientists and economists. We work across all WSP’s sectors including projects like Barangaroo Metro Station, Circular Quay Renewal project, Renewable Energy Zones and Special Activation Precincts. Our clients are private, government, not for profits and institutional.
Our team incorporates leading-edge sustainability and thought leadership into all our projects. From a position of influence, we bring holistic sustainability approaches with a key focus on lifecycle decarbonization, climate change, resilience and effective ESG. We embed strategic and technical expertise in the development of buildings, precincts, infrastructure and corporate sustainability outcomes.
Our strategic input to critical decisions promotes the delivery of sustainable outcomes across the built environment, both leading and supporting our client’s ESG objectives and opportunities. We deliver high-performance building design and sustainable urban infrastructure solutions within the built environment - responding to regulatory drivers (e.g. Section J, NatHERS/BASIX, SEPP 65/RFDC, etc.) and voluntary green building/infrastructure certification needs (e.g. Green Star, LEED and IS rating tools), and offering design and client advisory services.

**Your Opportunity**
As an entry-level consultant in our team, unlocking your professional potential is our number one priority. You will be trained closely which will enhance your technical, personal and relationship-building skills, providing you with a wide range of development opportunities as you build your professional experience.
You will be exposed to a broad range of projects and will experience first-hand how sustainability is applied across a variety of sectors and clients. You will undertake research and use your analytical skills to identify and prioritise key actions for our clients. You will perform calculations to inform sustainability strategies and technical advice. You will develop reports and presentations to effectively communicate key outcomes and messages. You will form relationships, and friendships and commence a rewarding and fulfilling career in sustainability.

**What we will love about you**
- Recently completed your tertiary qualification in Engineering and/or Sustainability focused discipline with excellent grades
- Demonstrated passion for sustainability
- High level of technical capability to assist with calculations and modelling exercises
- Ability to use basic theoretical knowledge of engineering principles to analyse, interpret and conclude project requirements and challenges
- Proactive and Passionate about developing solutions for a low-carbon, sustainable built environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sustainability certification schemes (Green Star, IS ratings, NABERS, NatHERS)
- High-performance building design and optimisation skills, such as operational energy efficiency, embodied carbon calculations, daylight design, water efficiency, climate resilience, thermal comfort
- Climate change risks, opportunities and impacts
- Corporate sustainability strategies and ESG reporting
