**About Us**
The Woolworths Format Development Team are a national team of 1,000, responsible for innovating and developing future retail stores across supermarkets, Metro & Big W. We implement designs by creating experience-centric technology-led retail store formats that are purpose-built for our customers and teams. We innovate by focusing on Continuous Improvement, sustainable energy management, technology, and working with our suppliers, service providers and operations teams to move towards a healthier planet.
At Woolies, we’re about creating customer and team-first experiences. To enable this, the Smart & Simpler Program is focused on transforming through technology, equipment or process optimisation to deliver consistent in-store processes and better, safer experiences for our customers and team members.
**The Role**
Due to an internal move, we’re now looking for a Transformation & Strategy Manager to bring their storytelling and problem-solving to influence and communicate transformation to the business working within an agile squad with members from across the business, responsible for;
- Injecting creative and innovative thinking to design and implement our stores future blueprints
- Provide active thought leadership and challenge on strategic opportunities to transform stores based on evidence and insights
- Developing and communicating clear recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Using your quantitative problem-solving and analytical capabilities to develop the fact bases that will inform decision-making for our future transformation
- Extracting insights from complex analysis
- Coaching and mentoring our more junior team members
**Who we’re looking for**
We’re looking for a creative thinker who thrives on challenging the status quo and asking why. You’ll be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and demonstrate strong integrity and credibility. In addition, you’ll also demonstrate;
- 4+ years of experience within a strategy consultancy, or corporate strategy team
- Superb written and oral communication with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
- Demonstrated deep experience and knowledge of strategic problem solving and frameworks
- Experience in project and change management, or innovation and transformation in a customer-facing business
- Exceptional customer & stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to influence & gain credibility with senior stakeholders and project teams
- Analytics and quantitative modelling
- Ability to coach and develop junior team members
Demonstrating the following skills will also be highly desirable;
- Good understanding of customer-facing businesses (Retail, food business, telco)
- Agile mindset and process experience (Scrum)
