We are currently recruiting for a Geologist who will report directly into the Superintendent - Mine Geology and work on a 8:6 roster. You will work with a dynamic team to complete a range of geological activities including assisting in the development of all mine Geology standard operating procedures to maximise the ex-pit mine grade and subsequent processing head grade to enhance the value of the Boddington Gold Mine. The Mine Geologist will contribute to the safe completing of infill, reserve and resource drilling programs.
**A day in the life of a Geologist may include**:

- Complete mapping of blastholes and highwalls to define boundaries of geology features to be included in the ore control, STP and OR models.
- Manage sampling information to facilitate the completion of Geology OC Models in time for production. These models will be generated for gold, copper, sulphur and revenue.
- Manage and use the blast movement system to create a post blast grade control model that is then used to create ore polygons
- Assist in managing RC and Diamond infill, Resource and Resource Development drilling programs for use in OR and STP models as required
- Project management as assigned by stakeholders
- Assist in the weekly and monthly reconciliations to ensure the performance of Grade Control Models are within acceptable limits against mill production and OR model.
- Complete shovel time and operator training with dig unit operators
- Provide direction, and assist with training, of Graduate Geologists and Pit Technicians

**About you**:
You will have excellent communication skills with a proven ability to persuade, involve and lead a diverse multi-functioned group of stakeholders to ensure short term operational objectives are achieved in an efficient manner for an optimal solution, you will enjoy solving problems and have a proactive mindset wit the Ability to motivate the team around you. You will also ideally hold:

- Completion of a Bachelor degree in Geology at a recognised tertiary institution
- Experience in surface and/or underground mine geology, preferably with some experience in a similar scale large tonnage operation.
- Previous exposure to the mining operations with large hydraulic or rope shovels with similar material movements will be well regarded.
- Previous exposure to mine planning for this type of project will be well regarded.
- Previous experience in a production environment focusing on delivering results to schedule and budget while having demonstrating a proactive commitment to a safe working environment.
- Exposure to reconciliation and interpretation of grade control, ore reserve models and declared ore mined to mill will be well regarded.
