**Montessori Care is a registered NDIS service provider of in-home aged care and disability supports.**
**We are currently seeking enthusiastic Developmental Educator to join our diverse team in Greater Sydney NSW.**

The Developmental Educator plays a pivotal role in providing holistic support and intervention for individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs in NDIS and home care settings. They focus on facilitating the development of essential skills, promoting independence, and enhancing the overall quality of life for their clients through individualised education and intervention plans.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' strengths, needs, preferences, and developmental goals.
- Implement evidence-based teaching strategies, educational interventions, and therapeutic techniques to promote the acquisition of cognitive, social, communication, self-help, and adaptive skills.
- Utilise behavior management strategies, positive behavior support techniques, and behavior modification principles to address challenging behaviors and promote positive social interactions.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to families, caregivers, and support workers on effective communication strategies, behavior management techniques, and skill-building activities.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, healthcare professionals, and community organisations to facilitate integrated support services and access to resources for clients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of client assessments, progress notes, educational plans, and intervention strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in developmental education, special education, psychology, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or special needs.
- Knowledge of developmental theories, educational principles, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt interventions to meet individual needs.
- Understanding of the NDIS framework, policies, and funding requirements (specific to Australia).

**Working Conditions**:

- Work may be conducted in various settings, including client homes, and community institutions.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client needs, including occasional evening or weekend appointments.
- Travel may be required to visit multiple client locations within a designated geographic area.
