With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

We are seeking a suitably experienced **Mining Manager **to be** **accountable for all mining operations, mine technical services and mining performance.

As well as managing of our onsite mining team, the position ensures all short to long term mining plans are documented and communicated to key stakeholders to ensure alignment to business goals and objectives prioritising a safe and reliable operation in open pit mining and exploration at Karara.

This role is site based and operates on a **5 days on 2 days off / 4 days on 3 days / 9 days on 5 days off** roster.

The position is charged with the Operational responsibility for all mine operations, mine production and technical services related activities including:

- Mining production operations and equipment;
- Ancillary mining operations;
- Drill and blast operations;
- Mine and exploration geology;
- Mine ore quality control;
- Geotechnical engineering;
- Mine, stockpile and dump surveying;
- Mine engineering/mine planning (short, medium and long term);
- Haul road and waste dump/ore stockpile management
- Ensure ROM (Run Of Mine) primary crusher feed haul road and dump management
- Manage primary mining, drill and blast contractor
- Train load out product to rail

**Essential Qualifications and Experience;**
- A minimum Mining and/or Engineering Bachelor Degree
- Significant senior management and operational experience in large scale open pit mining operations
- Demonstrated ability to establish strategy, plans and teams
- Australian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work
- National Police clearance
