Property & Environmental Services (PES) is KPMG’s in-house team of Chartered Surveyors, Environmental Scientists and Building Certifiers with full service teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Focusing primarily on commercial property: office, retail, industrial, hotels it also is well represented across other sub groups.

Their principal services are Technical Due Diligence, Make Good Reporting, Environmental Investigations, Sustainability Services, Project Management and Tax Depreciation services.

The core skills within this Australasian consultancy are the technical assessment of the physical condition of commercial assets coupled with a clear understanding of client property and asset strategies. An important competency of the consultants employed by this leading surveying consultancy is the ability to take a commercial view of property circumstances and information.

**Your opportunity**:
As a Quantity Surveyor with us, you will assist clients of the KPMG Property Due Diligence Team as an advisor in Capital Allowances and Tax Depreciation. To examine capital allowance/tax depreciation claims to identify a client’s full tax/cash savings entitlement to achieve optimum cash flow benefits.

Working alongside dedicated team of chartered quantity surveyors and tax professionals to prepare thorough and compliant tax depreciation/capital allowances claims for clients.

**Role responsibilities**:

- Assist with preparing, negotiating, and settling TD/Capital Allowance claims for all types of property investments.
- In-depth review of property purchase/lease contracts, development agreements and supporting documentation to assess total capital expenditure and identify maximum amount of qualifying expenditure and prepare claim in accordance with relevant legislative frameworks.
- Quantity surveying support to the wider Technical Due Diligence and Infrastructure Projects Group as required.

**How are you extraordinary?**
You will have a technical background as a Quantity Surveyor and you will have skills and experience that include:

- Relevant Degree in Real Estate/Accounting/Tax or other relevant field
- AIQS/RICS membership
- 1 or more years of experience in tax depreciation and capital allowances quantity surveying
- A foundation of experience across building construction, property and asset management, quantity surveying, tax and accounting
- A demonstrated ability to deal with and assess large complex commercial, retail and industrial assets.
- A high level of expertise in Microsoft, CostX and other relevant technology resources.
- Excellent liaison skills with fellow professional consultants to be able to source relevant information for compilation in reports and assessments.
- A professional demeanour that will allow interaction with high level property executives in formal and informal settings.
