**The client**
The Seacombe Gardens program is supporting a fifteen-year-old male on the Autism Spectrum living in Voluntary Out of Home Care in a 1:1 client ratio. The role will require applicants to have a strong focus supporting this young person to attend school, increase engagement in the community, and develop their independent living skills to achieve their full potential.

**What you need to succeed**:

- Sound knowledge of the stages of child and adolescent development along with interpersonal skills relating to behaviours exhibited in the context of past trauma and abuse
- Theoretical and practical working skills related to the needs of the young people with challenging behaviours and their connection to their families
- Experience supporting young people to develop independent living skills
- A commitment to mentor young persons
- Experience supporting clients in Out of Home Care, Residential Care and in the community
- Be a passionate, reliable, and dedicated support worker
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure a consistent approach to enable clients to reach their goals
- Knowledge of the autism spectrum and effective strategies for support (desirable)
- Requirement to be available to work across the 7-day roster, including active/passive overnight and weekend work

**Essential requirements**:

- A minimum Certificate IV in Disability or Youth Work
- DCP Psychological Assessment (successful applicants will be supported with this process)
- National Police Clearance within the last 3 months
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and DHS Working with Children Check
- All mandated doses of COVID-19 vaccinations
- Full Australian Drivers License
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation module
- Senior First Aid training and CPR certificate
- Child Safe Environment training
- Assist with Medication training
