**Company Description**:
- At KPMG Australia, we work with some of the most exciting, innovative and important businesses in Australia. We have entered an exciting period of growth and we are looking for incredible and diverse individuals to join our supportive Consulting division in Australia. Our vision is to be the clear choice transformation partner by connecting capabilities and conquering complexity to drive outcomes we’re proud of in partnership with our clients.
We’re looking for high performing Senior Consultant, Manager or Associate Director to join our rapidly growing Workplace Relations Advisory practice.
**Who is the Workplace Relations Advisory (WRA) team?**
The WRA team are a sub-team within KPMG’s Workforce & HR advisory practice in Consulting.
WRA is small but close team of consultants specialising in Australian industrial relations. For many businesses, interest in industrial relations has peaked over the past few years so the WRA team has been growing steadily.
The current team comes from a range of backgrounds - people consulting, the industrial relations regulator and tribunal, employment lawyers and in-house industrial relations. And despite their varied backgrounds, they all work with genuine care for each other and their clients in their shared goal of making Australian industrial relations known, understandable and practicable.
The team currently has people in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane but work with clients across Australia.
**Who are you?**
This role requires a combination of industrial relations skills, business acumen and stakeholder management skills.
**The technical aspects. You’re the type of team member who**:
- Understands Australian industrial relations like:
- the fundamentals of Australian industrial relations - the FWAct and national employment standards, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and the interaction of state industrial relations systems
- who the key stakeholders are (employees, FWC, FWO, unions, employer associations)
- the process for making and varying industrial instruments.
- Is able to translate industrial relations into practical, actionable advice.
- Is able to lift themselves out of the detail to see the bigger picture e.g. how industrial relations might impact clients, business, employees and regulators.
- Is interested in broadening their expertise in more than industrial relations (think communications and engagement, change management, learning and development and talent management).
- Is proficient in the MSWord suite or willing to learn, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Has high attention to detail.
- Typical backgrounds of people who succeed in this role: industrial relations advisors, industrial advocates, associates
**The team aspects (which are just as important as the technical)**
Our team genuinely listens, collaborates and respects one another so it’s important we’re on the same page. You’re the type of team member who:
- communicates transparently and clearly (both written and verbal)
- understands and the importance of shared success, not just individual success
- seeks to solve problems rather than simply finding them
- is willing to get stuck into the detail and deliver
- takes initiative, rather than waits to be instructed
- is curious about the world around them.
**What type of work will you be doing?**
This role is an exciting entry point into KPMG for anyone seeking a dynamic, fast paced and learning oriented environment.
You’ll be working with a range of clients, industries and teams across KPMG, where no two engagements are the same.
Typical examples of the type of the work WRA delivers includes:
- ** Current state assessments **of organisations’ industrial environment (think their awards, enterprise agreements, union relationship and employee demographics - instrument coverage, classification, tenure, engagement
- ** Stakeholder consultation and communication frameworks** to help organisations sell their vision in a way that meets industrial relations requirements (think consultation clauses, redundancy requirements and tricky transfer of business rules) while winning people’s hearts and minds
- Developing **all things enterprise agreement**: long-term strategies, negotiation planning, campaign planning and tactical advice about aligning an enterprise agreement with a client’s future workforce strategies
- ** Working closely with our people and change (P&C)** colleagues on other assignments involving broader transformational change.
We’re advertising for three levels: Senior Consultant, Manager and Associate Director. If you think you fit the bill for what we’ve described, we encourage you to submit your CV. As part of the process, we can help identify which level suits your skills and experience.
- ** Senior Consultant**:Responsibility for delivering projects and managing self towards producing high-quality outcomes with occasional management of small teams or client re
