**About the role**:
MPK is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our Project team, reporting through to the Project Manager. Initially based in the Brisbane support office, Monday to Friday before transitioning to a site based role on a 10:4 roster.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Lead and manage the project HSE team including implementation of work schedules for areas of responsibility, assigning, and communicating priorities.
- Recognise and manage development/training needs within the HSE team and communicate these through the MPK's Personal and Professional Development processes.
- Able to interpret Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, monitor and report on compliance.
- Implement a certified HSE Management system, in line with corporate standards and procedures that reflects best practice and that is aligned with all relevant legislation, contract and certification requirements.
- Develop and maintain Project specific HSE management plans in consultation with all stakeholders and are communicated appropriately.
- Facilitate the Project HAZID and develop the Project Risk Register, identifying hazards associated with the scope of works ensuring that appropriate controls are implemented to reduce the risk to as low as reasonably practicable.
- Participate in internal/external HSE audits and ensure assurance inspections are completed in accordance with the schedule.
- Incident and Injury Management in accordance with corporate and client requirements.
- Support the implementation of the Assist and Assure Program on the project.
- Monitor and manage compliance with MPK and Client HSE policies, procedures, directives, and standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to continually improving the safety culture and performance of the project to achieve an incident free workplace.
- Monitor project HSE Performance against corporate and project KPI’s, communicating the outcome and implementing improvement plans as required.
- Advise, coach and mentor project staff (including subcontractors) on Risk Management and HSE Continuous Improvement.
- Ensure all internal, client and legislative reporting requirements are met.
- Manage and coordinate project training including training records.
**Skills and Experiences**:
**About you**:
Minimum 10 years' experience within the Health, Safety and Environmental field at a site management level in the construction and gas industries.
**Mandatory qualifications**:
- Formal Qualifications in OHS/ WHS (Min Diploma in OHS/WHS)
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or equivalent)
- ICAM Lead Incident Investigation
- Provide First Aid with Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HLTAID003 / HLTAID001)
- Coal Seam Gas Industry Safety Induction (ISI)
- Drug and Alcohol Testing (HLTPAT005 or equivalent)
- 4WD Operate and maintain/ 4WD Operate vehicles in the field (PMASUP236/ RIIVEH305E)
- Chain of Responsibility (COR)
- General Construction Induction (White Card) - CPCCWHS1001
- Driver’s License Open C Class
**Desired qualifications**:
- Formal Qualifications in Environmental Management (Min Cert IV in Environmental Management)
- Lead Auditor
- Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (Queensland Workers Compensation Regulator approved training course).
