As our Economic Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic Department. Your mission will be to support the provision of timely and accurate information and analysis on workforce, migration, and other economic data. Your insights and research will fuel planning and policy advice, and you’ll be at the forefront of identifying and initiating in-depth analysis on the factors influencing economic growth, such as the demand for and supply of labour, skills, and qualifications.
Dive deep into economic data: You will be at the forefront of collecting, analysing, and interpreting a wealth of data related to workforce, migration, and economic trends. Your analyses will directly influence policy development, helping us make informed decisions that positively impact our community and society. You will be responsible for exploring and understanding the intricacies of labour markets, small business economic contributions, and migration data to identify opportunities for growth and development. Also, you will utilise analytical tools to craft compelling briefs, written reports, and other products, making complex economic data accessible and actionable. You will play an integral role in maintaining an efficient work environment, ensuring that our team collaborates effectively and thrives in a positive atmosphere.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
- Good knowledge of statistical and economic theory and principles, and a solid knowledge of labour market, training and economic data sources, concepts, classifications and techniques.
- Some experience in undertaking research and analysis related to economic or training related issues.
- Experience in the collection, collation and analysis and presentation of data and findings of applied research from a variety of sources in verbal and written reports.
- Proven experience in the use of computer software, particularly in data management and analysis, word processing and other presentation software.

**Remuneration**:
Competitive salary (ASO4 $75,430 min - $79,070 max pa) plus superannuation

**Qualifications**:
Essential: Degree in Economics, Data Analytics, and/or Statistics or equivalent.
Desirable: Nil

- The role will be offered on an ongoing basis
- Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
