We currently have an outstanding newly created opportunity for a Real World Evidence (RWE) Lead to join our Medical Affairs team. This is an amazing opportunity to join an industry-leading Medical Affairs team, generating and communicating compelling medical evidence that changes the practice of medicine for the benefit of patients and shapes the future of AstraZeneca.

**What **you’ll** do**

As the RWE Lead, you will develop our strategic RWE plans for our priority disease areas and deliver practice-changing RWE projects aligned to business strategy in collaboration with cross functional teams.

Reporting to the Medical director, you will deliver the RWE plans using a balance between technical expertise, therapeutic knowledge, project management and communication skills, leveraging and prioritising internal and external resources as required. In this role, you will
- Lead the development and delivery of brand
- or disease-specific operational RWE plans, aligned to business strategy and in collaboration with the cross-functional teams
- Support and guide Business Units in identifying and prioritising most appropriate RWE solutions for their business needs and bring medical leadership and technical expertise into commercial discussions
- Ensure GxP requirements and other regulation and compliance considerations related to evidence generation activities are met
- Establish AstraZeneca as scientific leader and partner of choice for evidence generation externally - build new partnerships and drive system change for better real word data and evidence availability
- Leads Evidence Generations capability enhancement and extends knowledge/capacity to different medical affairs members

**Essential for the role**
- Bachelor's Degree in epidemiology, life sciences or equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare/life science, consulting, research or data-focused role.
- Strong ability to understand, interpret and communicate statistical analysis
- Experience with a diverse range of RWE methodologies, data sources and uses
- Track record of deploying RWE to influence policy, system, or clinical practice
- Evidence of leadership, collaborative working and personal accountability
- Experience in strategic and operational planning, specifically focussed on identifying evidence needs and prioritised solutions

**Desirable for the role**
- Pharmaceutical industry experience
- Technical skills in Protocol writing, statistics and analytical skills
- Relevant therapy area experience
