
Industrial Relations Manager

Reporting to the Head of Industrial Relations, this opportunity will be responsible for delivering exceptional business partnering to the national Metcash Group and wider People & Culture on all industrial relations matters.
**What you’ll do**
- Enterprise bargaining negotiations
- Provide trusted advice on workplace legislation and compliance (including workplace reforms)
- Market analysis and benchmarking to inform existing projects and emerging trends
- Contribute to the development of IR capability across the Metcash Group
- Other IR related projects (as required)
Note: The IR team does not have accountability for employment (ER) or safety law matters
**What you’ll bring**
- Demonstrated experience in an IR role in a large or otherwise complex organization across both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Significant experience delivering enterprise agreement product in an end-to-end capacity
- Up-to-date understanding of existing and emerging industrial and workplace law
- Excellent influential and communication skills at all levels (including senior leaders, union organisers, officials, lawyers, Fair Work Commission)
- Strong problem solving skills
- Collaborative and facilitative style of operating with ability to work autonomously
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines
- Preferable experience appearing in the Fair Work Commission
- This role would ideally suit a lawyer practicing in workplace relations (industrial relations) and looking for a career transition to an in-house role or a change to current in-house environment. The role provides for exposure to a vast range of matters and facilitates development and refinement of key in-house skills in relationship management and training
