**About the Team**

Joining the Australian Rheinmetall Multi Ammunition Softkill system team as a Configuration Controller is an exciting opportunity to lead a cutting-edge defence project in Australia. The team is focused on developing advanced decoy systems for Royal Australian Navy ships, with a goal of improving the survivability and protection of Navy personnel. As a Configuration Controller, you will work with a talented and experienced team of engineers, production and assembly teams, and military professionals to deliver a world-class product that meets the needs of the Navy. This is an opportunity to play a key role in advancing Australia's defence capabilities and contribute to the security of the nation.

**About the Role**

The Configuration Controller (CC) is responsible to develop, implement and manage plans, processes and procedures to ensure that configuration baselines, and technical artefacts and datasets, are suitably maintained to meet Rheinmetall Defence Australia projects availability, safety, quality, cost, schedule and contract requirements.

The Configuration Controller performs day-to-day CM tasks, including managing data, parts, software and documents in soft and hardcopy using Company systems and processes. The Configuration Controller also ensures project related data is created and maintained within a strong governance and consistent process across the Company.

The general and generic duties of the Configuration Controller includes, but not limited to:

- Maintaining Configuration Management Plans (CMP)
- Implementing and maintaining all procedures and processes pertaining to Configuration Management (CM);
- Managing all Configuration Management related effort of Rheinmetall Australia (RDA) projects;
- Creating, performing and monitoring CM deliverables such as Master Record Index (MRI), Configuration Status Accounting Report (CSAR), Build State Certificates (BSC) and Technical Information Management, Formats and Transfer Mechanisms (TIMF&TM).
- Producing and Configuration Management reports;
- Provide assurance that Configuration Management and operational deliverables are received, reviewed, and actioned in line with contract requirements and escalate or resolve any non-compliances;
- Plan and execute CM throughout the project lifecycle, including product development;
- Establish, maintain, monitor and report contractually required or internally directed baselines (e.g. functional, allocated, and product baselines) with appropriate Engineering documentation and Standards;
- Participate in design reviews and conduct Configuration Control Board/s (CCB) and other working groups to include coordination with board members, writing appropriate board directives, and tracking action items;
- Establish, review, oversee and update the end to end Change Management release process (Problem Reports, Change Proposals and Change Notices);
- Ensure data quality, compliance and consistency of data across business systems;
- Champion CM in RDA and assist in people, process and system document control improvement initiatives including quality control, requirement gathering and design, testing, change management, and training;
- Conduct and report on Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) as required;
- Working closely with stakeholders to ensure maintenance and accuracy of RDA configuration information, and to provide management and performance reporting;
- Supporting of internal and external customers by responding to queries relating to any of the responsibilities outlined above;
- Consult and coach project teams; and
- Performing other duties as required by the Configuration Manager.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

- A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in Configuration management and Change management;
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Systems Engineering) or related discipline;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and PDM systems;
- Skill in dealing with parts lists and drawings;
- Target-focused, structured and independent working approach, analytical mind and reasoning;
- Ability to influence people from different levels of the organisation;
- Strong all round IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite to (advanced);
- Team player;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Good interpersonal skills;
