Joining our Leveraged, Acquisition and Syndicated Finance team in Sydney as an Analyst or Associate, you will report to the Head of Leveraged, Acquisition and Syndicated Finance Australia, with the focus of supporting the origination and execution of corporate and event driven financings in Australia and New Zealand.

As a proactive member of the team you will support the business in satisfying growth, revenue and cost targets, with the goal of enhancing client relationships (greater share of wallet) and building effective peer and investor bank relationships.

- Your key responsibilities will include:_
- Undertaking detailed credit analysis, due diligence, financial modelling, preparation of pricing and capital submissions, and negotiation of transaction documentation.
- Providing support to senior team members in the management and support of corporate and financial sponsor client relationships.
- Assisting with the preparation of wider debt market updates and strategic pitch books.
- Preparing marketing materials and diligence materials to assist in deal execution including lender presentations and information memorandums.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues across the commercial bank and other product areas as relevant including Debt Capital Markets, Global Markets, and Infrastructure, Export and Asset Finance to identify and action cross selling opportunities across the business.
- Developing / maintaining an appropriate level of understanding of each relevant client’s business, industry and associated markets.
- Participating in driving a high performance culture and deliver HSBC’s integrated strategy and engage in open, honest two-way communication within relevant product and relationship manager groups.

Requirements
- To be successful in this role, you will need:_
- Previous experience within Leveraged and Acquisition Finance or similar roles as an Analyst or Associate.
- Appropriate analytical skills with a strong commercial orientation, focusing on credit and syndicated loan qualities.
- To consistently meet and exceed client expectations through superior service and show the ability to identify cross sell and business growing opportunities where relevant.
- Solid understanding of risk management and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong client and internal relationships.
- Excellent communication, analytical and mathematical skills with detailed-oriented, problem-solving capabilities.
- Degree qualified in a finance related discipline.
